Restored

I have considered vintage cars an art form since my early days as a photographer. The curves and steel lines and gleaming chrome represent an era of design beauty and quality we will never see again. I have owned several old cars myself, all disreputable beaters except one, a 1964 Rambler Ambassador in mint condition. In the early 90s I was involved with a classic car club for women called the Revving Bettys. We rallied in beach parking lots and fixed carburetors in each other’s driveways. Though our environment can no longer sustain such vehicles for everyday use, it is my good fortune when I come upon one rusted and languishing in an overgrown hay field or discover a restored beauty with collector plates, parked on a city side street.
